Materials

There is a large scope of alternative ‘natural waste fibers' in India that can work as an alternative to wood-pulp paper. Sources for tree-free paper include:

• agricultural residues – for example, sugar cane bagasse, husks, straw and fallen leaves.

• fiber crops and wild plants – such as bamboo, kenaf, hemp, jute, and flax.

• textiles and cordage wastes.
